Christmas Sights and Sounds
Christmas Sights and Sounds
Thanks to all of you for your patience (not many posts) over the last two months and especially for your kind emails regarding my mom.
Since the Christmas spirit is among us I wanted to suggest a great gift for an elderly parent or grandparent.
When my mom had her stroke, it was impossible for her to operate her stereo. I looked for a very simple device, with a simple remote control, that would simply turn on with the push of a button and play music.
In my quest for a Christmas gift for her last year, I saw a number of people in her ward had lighted, picture frames that rotated pictures in a slide show. I bought her the HP Picture Show last year. Not only can you put up to 2 gigs of photos, you can put several CDs as well. The music starts, along with the slide show. Just turn it on.
Several staff nurses have told me they have found my mom, in the middle of the night, mesmerized by the pictures. This past week I added several hundred pictures and changed the music.
Nativity World
Please visit the Nativity collection at Holy Cross Lutheran Church on Pilgrim Road. It is available for viewing all year but is especially delightful to see right now. There are hundreds of Nativity sets from all over the world that were generously donated by Susanne and Bill Gay.
Does anyone know when St. Anthony’s has their Christmas music concert? I enjoyed that several years ago and don’t know if it is an annual event. Please post if you have information on it.
Do you have something you enjoy, at Christmas time, in Menomonee Falls? Let us know what it is.
Have a Merry Christmas!
I will be back on December 31st with my predictions and my prediction results of last year. Also a post (or maybe a series) about "The Good Old Boys"
