Ode To The Sea
Hi. How are ya’? Captain Bud here.
Out on the open sea sometimes the only words that suffice are those that wax poetical. In fact, there’s a longstanding tradition of poetry and seamen: Aiken, Sandburg, Whitman, Dickinson. I’ve written some poetry of my own, freshly penned this morning. Enjoy!
Ode To The Sea
Leaving wake
Spray and spindrift
Briny veils
Refracting light
Brave and stalwart
Through crest and trough
Breaching bow
Spirits aloft
In the moment
At the wheel
Oh, the open sea!
Billows roll
Winds bluster
We ride the waves
Like big scoops of custard
