I have lived in the Falls since 1968. My great-great grandfather was one of the village founders. I have served the community in multiple ways: Firefighter, various boards and commissions and for many years was president of the Falls Cable Access Corp. Currently I own, and am active in, a restaurant equipment manufacturing company.
This evening I got a phone call from a "Private Caller" who represented himself as a member of a veterans group in Germantown.
He thanked me for my previous support of the organization and was requesting a monetary donation. I told him that I had not previously donated to them, but he continued that it was within the last year or 30 days or so. I told him that I didn't belive him and prompty hung up.
I am happy to donate to this or any other organization, but there is one caveat.: DON'T BEGIN WITH A LIE!
There are quite a few charitable cause that solicit me in this way. And I will always blow them off. If an organization needs help, I will give it gladly, but please don't try to scam me in the process.
