Students and Older Adults Walk Hand in Hand to Benefit Food Pantry

Students from Riverside School, and the Quest alternative high school program, teamed up with over 100 adults who included older adult volunteers, teachers, parents and grandparents in an intergenerational program to raise money and awareness for the Menomonee Falls Food Pantry. On January 25 & 27, students gathered in the Community Center gym to walk side by side with an adult to a variety of Big Band era tunes. The “entry fee” for the walk was a non-perishable item or monetary donation to the Menomonee Falls Food Pantry. Five hundred pounds of food and over $200 was collected. Intergenerational chats, laughter, exercise and warm feelings were the highlights of the day.

The event was hosted by Menomonee Falls Community Education & Recreation in addition to Riverside Elementary School.
