Concerts, Ballgames & Parades...It's Summer!
The calender said May 14th and I was walking out of Miller Park. That being said, you could safely bet that I was in shorts and the Brewers had won based on off season predictions. Yes the Brewers won but as I shot out the door I was greeted with stinging, icy rain that was blowing almost horizontally. I laughed as I moved quickly to the car thinking, hey this is just like a normal opening day. Two days later it's still pretty chilly and I'm running out of patience. Channel 14 is about to go on a 2 week stretch of soccer, softball, baseball, concert and parade coverage with the mobile trailer that is supposed to mean Summer is here! Let's hope so (for the camera operators sake).
Now that we have a schedule of events that Channel 14 is planning on covering in the next 3 months, it has become apparent that we need more volunteers who are interested in TV production. Our entire crew has shown not only an interest in video, but also in the team effort that goes into each production. It's fast paced and live, and when everyone is clicking it's fun to see the final result. With over 20 events planned this Summer, it would be a good time to train a few more volunteers and lighten the load for all.
Whatever your interest in "live production" we can train you to be part of the crew. Whether its operating the cameras, cuing the graphics, checking the audio or even sitting behind the microphones, there is something for everyone. If you would like to join us to watch a production from behind the scenes please contact Harry by email at info@fallscableaccess.com . If you think you would like to join the team, we can get you trained in no time. There is no stress for these events, we try to make it fun for all.
This weekend the mobile trailer is gong on the road, outside the village. We had rented the trailer to Time Warner once before for the Waukesha Christmas Parade and found out that there aren't too many live production vehicles in the area that rent for less than $10,000. Now the trailer isn't a million dollar FOX NFL Football truck, but it can certainly cover any local sports or events. With that in mind, the access trailer is now available for rental for live events. Prices depend on the event, number of cameras, whether you need a crew, and a few other variables such as travel. Youth sports groups and non-profits will receive special pricing, and can defray the cost of the rental by selling DVD's of the event. If you would like to know more please contact us at info@fallcableaccess.com .
