Falls library showing movies Thanksgiving week
Menomonee Falls - The Menomonee Falls Public Library offers a variety of free family films during Thanksgiving week on its giant meeting room screen. Teachers invited to Old Courthouse Museum
West Bend - Join Washington County Historical Society Curator of Education Jessica Sawinski Couch at a special evening at the Old Courthouse and Old Jailhouse Museums, 320 S. 5th Ave, West Bend. The event starts at 4:30 p.m. Nov. 28. Mingle with colleges and learn how you can use the museums and its collections in your classroom. Enter to win a free museums visit for your entire grade level.

Warhawks teach basketball basics
Germantown - Kids ages 8-13 will have a chance to learn the basketball basics from Germantown High School coaching staff and players. The Germantown Warhawks coaches and player will work with the kids on skills and drills.
After the clinic join us for the Elk's Hoop Shoot-Free Throw Contest from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
This clinic takes place from 9 to 10 a.m. Dec. 3 at Kennedy Middle School, W160 N11836 Crusader Court. Participants must be age 8 by start of program. The program is free, but registration is required.
Performer provides holiday magic at Falls library
Menomonee Falls - The Menomonee Falls Public Library presents LaBak the Magician in a holiday magic show at 11 a.m. Dec. 3. The show for all ages includes magic and card tricks, confusing mental feats, disappearing objects and audience participation.

Holiday House keeps tails waggin'
Menomonee Falls - Wisconsin Adopt A Golden Retriever invites you to its seventh annual Goldens' Holiday House from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 3 at the home of Barb and Jim Hart, N61 W12851 Hemlock Court, in the River Heights South subdivision, Menomonee Falls. WAAGR is an all-volunteer/member golden retriever rescue organization serving southeastern Wisconsin and beyond.
The Goldens' Holiday House host home will be decorated with approximately 30 themed trees, including a "Wizard of Oz" tree and a tree dedicated to jolly old St. Nick. Barb Hart begins decorating her home for the event in September.
The event also features a bake sale, silent auction, complimentary refreshments and plenty of golden retrievers.
The cost is a $5 donation, with kids 11 and younger free. All proceeds support goldens in WAAGR's care that are awaiting new homes.
"As a nonprofit organization with no paid staff, we rely on the generosity of individuals that want to help provide a safe and happy life for Golden Retrievers that, for whatever reason, have lost their homes," WAAGR President Amie Trupke said. "We appreciate all of the support that we receive and look forward to helping Goldens for many more years to come."

Celebrate the holidays with county historical society
West Bend - Celebrate the Christmas season with the Washington County Historical Society beginning at 9 a.m. Dec. 3.
Spend the morning in the beautiful and festive Old Courthouse and Sheriff's Residence and Jail. Enjoy refreshments, the annual holiday raffle, silent auction, children's crafts and entertainment. Santa will be taking children's Christmas wishes from 10 a.m. to noon.
At 9:30 a.m., the St. John's Hand Bell Choir performs a selection of holiday favorites. The University of Wisconsin-Washington County Ballroom Dance Club entertains visitors beginning at 10:30 am. At 11 a.m. the Crosstown Harmony Chorus takes the stage.
This will be your last chance to purchase an annual holiday raffle ticket. Prizes include cash (split the pot), a $1,000 savings bond, a dinner and cruise with the Milwaukee Yacht Club and more. Tickets are $10 per chance, $30 for four chances, and $50 for 10 chances. Raffle prizes will be drawn at noon.
There is also a silent auction.

Have holiday tea at Old Falls Village
Menomonee Falls - The Miller-Davidson House at Old Falls Village will be festively-decorated in a WWII theme for the holidays and open for visitors from 1 to 4 p.m. Dec. 4 for the annual Silver Tea.
The Menomonee Falls Historical Society offers free admission, parking and refreshments for this event. Donations are gratefully accepted. A Christmas Cookie Bake Sale will be held in the Public House, and Mrs. Claus will pay a visit and read stories to the children. This year's theme is "I'll Be Home for Christmas."
Tour this lovely, restored home which was once the summer home of Emma Davidson of the Harley-Davidson clan. The home is decorated by the Menomonee Falls Garden Club and supported by Bank of Memories & Flowers and Shady Lane Greenhouse.

Menomonee Falls - The Menomonee Falls High School PTSA is holding a special holiday sale for MFHS Spirit Wear. The sale is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Dec. 7 in the cafeteria of Menomonee Falls High School, N8101 Merrimac Drive. The PTSA accepts cash or checks only for payment.

Get your early Christmas fix with women's club
Menomonee Falls - The Milwaukee West Suburban Christian Women's Club hosts a brunch at 9:30 a.m. Dec. 19. The group meets at Davians Banquet and Conference Center, 16300 Silver Spring Drive. Entertainment is provided by The King's Musicians, a family of children who perform Christmas music.
The speaker is Susan Nelsen from Neenah, who will present her talk, A Christmas Gathering.
The cost is $14, tax and tip included.
