• Shelley and David Zanon Jr. of Menomonee Falls are parents of a son, Nolan David Zanon, born Feb. 3, 2009. He was 9 pounds, 3 ounces and 22 inches.

• Lauralie Ulrich of Menomonee Falls is mother of a daughter, Kaylee Jean Ulrich, born Feb. 4, 2009. She was 7 pounds, 6 ounces and 21 inches. She joins brother Giovanni, 2.

• Andrew Bloedorn of Germantown was named to the fall 2008 dean's list at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.

• Whitney Zahn of Menomonee Falls was a member of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire forensics team that won the Wisconsin Forensics State Championship on Feb. 20 and 21, placed third overall at the Mid-American Forensics League 7 tournament Feb. 28 and second overall at the Mid-American Forensics League 8 tournament March 1. She placed first in informative speaking and second in after-dinner speaking Feb. 20 and 21, sixth in after-dinner speaking Feb. 28 and sixth in after-dinner speaking March 1.

• Jennifer Michalek, a 2007 graduate of Menomonee Falls High School, and Kelsy Baxter and Emily Rudolph of Germantown were named to the fall 2008 dean's list at Carroll University.
