The following students made the fall semester dean's list at Concordia University Wisconsin in Mequon: from Germantown, Rachel Anas, Michael Dentice, Mark Fehl, Michael Klaver, Lindsey Knutson, Brittany Kosidowski, Rob Oestreich, Abigail Rohde, Katie Rotaru and Joelle Yaggie; and from Menomonee Falls, Kayla Barth, Catherine Becker, Patrick Burns, Kristen Gatzow, Sammantha Grinwald, Kaitlin Guth, Kelsey Kalous, Katherine Kante, Joanna Levendusky, Lindsay Rose, Rachel Saleske, Kristin Sell, Brandon Tutkowski and Claire Van Alstyne.

The following students made the fall semester dean's list at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities: from Germantown, Janell Campbell; and from Menomonee Falls, Chloe Cole, Megan Girsch, Emily Lorenz, Melinda Marquardt, Sara Olsson and Nathan Wright.

Brian Miller of Germantown, a senior studying mass communication-advertising at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, was recognized in February in Madison by the Wisconsin Newspaper Association for his second-place award in the best advertisement category for his ad titled "You Have 10,784 Friend Requests." The ad appeared in the UW-Eau Claire campus newspaper, The Spectator.

SERVICENEWS

Army National Guard Spec. Ava K. Kielisch has graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Sill in Lawton, Okla. Kielisch, the daughter of Gary and Sue Kielisch of Germantown, is a 2005 graduate of Germantown High School. She earned a bachelor's degree in 2010 from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
