Storm damage speeds up plans for YMCA
Menomonee Falls — Officials within the YMCA of Greater Milwaukee are continuing to evaluate the status of the Tri-County branch in the aftermath of the heavy rains that fell July 22. A fundraising appeal has been announced as renovations are being considered.
ACT scores continue to improve
College-bound students at Germantown and Menomonee Falls high schools continue to perform above the state average on the ACT, the largest college admission and placement test. Recently released data indicates both schools improved, year-to-year. Participation also was up slightly.
Falls schools bracing for big aid drop

President Barack Obama arrived in southeastern Wisconsin today touting "green" manufacturing and searching for the green of campaign cash for his fellow Democrats. Obama kicked off his brief appearance in the state by visiting ZBB Energy Corp., a Menomonee Falls manufacturer of energy storage systems.

10 municipalities plus MMSD report sewer overflows
Ten municipalities in Milwaukee, Waukesha and Ozaukee counties, in addition to the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District, have reported separate sanitary sewer overflows of untreated wastewater to local waterways after Thursday's intense rains.(37)
