Police Report: April 23

April 23, 2012

THEFT

1The driver of a two-door Chevy Blazer pumped $35 of gas and left without paying at Good To Go Quick Mart, N88 W15167 Main St., at 11:15 a.m. April 11.

2Two purses were taken from a locked car at Marcus Cinema, W180 N9393 Premier Lane, between 7:20 and 9 p.m. April 12. The unknown suspect(s) smashed the rear driver's side window to gain access to the vehicle.

3A passenger in a white, four-door Volkswagen pumped $60 of gas into the car and the driver left without paying at Wittlin's, N92 W17387 Appleton Ave., at 7:39 p.m. April 12.

4A lawn mower was reported taken from an underground storage garage at Colonial Square Apartments, N88 W16888 Main St., at 11 a.m. April 12. The mower was last seen sometime in December of 2011. Police are following up with two possible suspects.

5The driver of a red Buick four-door car pumped $44 of gas, threw the gas hose to the ground and left without paying at Paul's Mobil, N56 W13920 Silver Spring Drive, at 2:50 p.m. April 14. The vehicle was last seen traveling north on Lilly Road. Video surveillance was obtained and police are following up.

6Two unknown suspects stole $1,600 worth of scrap metal at Alto Shaam, W164 N9221 Water St., between 1:58 and 2:30 p.m. April 15. The suspects cut a lock and chain to gain entry to the fenced area where the scrap metal was kept.

7A 49-year-old West Allis man was arrested for shoplifting two spools of wire at Home Depot, N94 W18375 Thunder Ridge Road, at 1:30 p.m. April 16. The suspect entered the store and purchased two spools of wire with cash, then left the store and re-entered and returned the items. After getting the cash back, the suspect selected two identical spools of wire from a shelf left the store without paying. He was arrested by West Bend police.

8The driver of a 1997-1999 tan Buick LeSabre left without paying for $63 of gas at Wittlin's, N92 W17387 Appleton Ave., at 2:43 p.m. April 16. The suspect, a 19- to 25-year-old man, was last seen driving northbound on Appleton Avenue. The license plates on the vehicle were confirmed stolen through the Milwaukee Police Department. Video surveillance of the theft was obtained and photos of the vehicle/suspects were forwarded to area gas stations.

9Three Neenah Foundry 12-inch by 24-inch cast iron drainage grates were stolen from the rear driveway/parking lot at Autoquip, N57 W13430 Reichert Ave., between noon and 12:50 p.m. April 17.

10The driver of an older, rusty, burgundy Ford Explorer with no license plates left without paying for $70 of gas at Citgo Good To Go, N88 W15167 Main St., at 12:50 p.m. April 19. The same suspect is wanted for an earlier theft of gas at the same location.

11A purse containing two credit cards was taken from an unlocked vehicle parked in a garage in the W165 N5300 block of Creekwood Crossing between 8:30 p.m. April 18 and 6:30 a.m. April 19. The unknown suspect(s) attempted to use the two stolen credit cards at an ATM in Menomonee Falls; however, the transactions were not successful. Police are following up to obtain video surveillance from the bank.

12An unknown male and female were observed concealing merchandise in a white purse at Woodman's Food Market, W124 N8145 Highway 145, shortly after 5:30 p.m. April 17. Loss prevention was able to recover the purse and all the items before the suspects fled the area in a 1998 silver, four-door Lexus. A license plate number was obtained and police are following up.

DRUG POSSESSION

13A 29-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for felony possession of cocaine after he was observed traveling at an excessive speed and driving westbound in the eastbound lane on Appleton Avenue at Fleet Avenue at 1:45 a.m. April 15. After police took him into custody on suspicion of drunken driving, second offense, he was found to have cocaine in his possession. The suspect was transported to Waukesha County Jail and is awaiting charges.

DRUNKEN DRIVING

14A 28-year-old Jackson woman was arrested for drunken driving when police after she was stopped for repeated lane deviations on Pilgrim and Good Hope roads at 12:35 a.m. April 16. The woman admitted drinking three glasses of wine before driving, and her preliminary blood alcohol concentration was 0.11.

ACCIDENTS

15A 45-year-old Menomonee Falls man was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries when his car left the roadway and flipped over after he swerved to avoid a hitting something on Mill Road approximately one-half mile west of Marcy Road at 8:20 a.m. April 18.

OTHER

16Employees at Thai Asian Market, N56 W14108 Silver Spring Drive, reported receiving multiple sexual harassing phone calls from a private number between 4:30 and 5 p.m. April 10. The suspect, an unknown male, attempted to disguise his voice on two of the calls, then halfway through the third call started talking in his normal voice. Store management is following up with their phone service provider and police are assisting with a phone trace.

17Menomonee Falls police responded to a call of a suspicious vehicle parked in a farm field on Lannon Road and High Point Avenue shortly before 2:30 p.m. April 16. An investigation determined the car was taken from a resident in the village of Lannon, and the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department took custody of the vehicle and is conducting an investigation.

18A 53-year-old Rubicon man was arrested for drugged driving after his 2012 Chevrolet Cruze LT crossed into the median and struck the median wall while traveling northbound on U.S. Highway 41/45 just south of County Line Road at 3:55 p.m. April 16. He was uninjured in the accident.
