Germantown — The Germantown School District Building Committee last week did not express interest in an 80-acre parcel of land on Holy Hill Road.
The owner of the property, who said he is interested in selling, had previously contacted district Business Manager Ric Ericksen to see if the district has any interest in purchasing the land, which sits on the southeast corner of Golden Dale and Holy Hill roads and abuts an approximately 21-acre lot owned by the district.
Since the property isn't currently connected to the village's sewer service and is outside of the approved sewer area, Ericksen and committee members said the land couldn't house any sort of useful building and would be a poor investment.
"To buy a property with money we don't have, for a use we don't have, I don't see the point," committee member Brian Medved said.
Superintendent Jeff Holmes said he would informally poll the School Board to see if there is any interest there.
