1Two unknown females and one unknown male shoplifted an electronic tablet and two digital media players at Target, N95 W17707 Shady Lane, at 7:11 p.m. Sept. 8. A loss prevention officer told police the same three suspects shoplifted the same items on Aug. 14 and Aug. 18, and that one of the suspects was in the store on Sept. 17 and may have attempted another theft.
2A subject identified as a 26-year-old Slinger woman shoplifted numerous DVD movies at Target, N95 W17707 Shady Lane, at about 4:30 p.m. Sept. 10. The suspect was positively identified through video surveillance of the incident, and police were attempting to locate her at the time of the report.
· A resident reported a contractor or his son used his checking account number to pay off more than $5,700 worth of personal debts on Sept. 12. The victim stated he hired the contractor, who was referred through Angie's List, to remodel a relative's home in New Jersey on Aug. 15, and the contractor or the contractor's son used the victim's personal checking account to make two payments to CITI card online and one payment to Progressive Insurance on Sept. 12. The victim filled out an ID theft packet and police are following up.
3A laptop computer and other items were stolen out of a locked vehicle parked at CVS Pharmacy, N83 W15550 Appleton Ave., between 10:25 a.m. and 6:10 p.m. Sept. 13. The victim told police a window on the vehicle was left open, possibly allowing the thief to gain entry.
4A subject identified as a 24-year-old Port Washington man shoplifted $338 of DVDs by concealing them in a shopping bag at Target, N95 W17707 Shady Lane, at 6:04 p.m. Sept. 13. The man was positively identified through surveillance video and police were attempting to locate him at the time of the report.
5A 23-year-old woman was arrested for shoplifting at Target, N95 W17707 Shady Lane, after she concealed $331 of DVDs in a baby carrier, went into the restroom and removed the anti-theft wraps, and then left the store without paying for them at about 2:30 p.m. Sept. 14. She was caught by police while attempting to shoplift more DVDs at Target on Sept. 15 and was taken into custody.
6An unknown subject(s) took a thank-you letter out of a residential mailbox in the N49 W16000 block of Lone Oak Lane, removed $30 of the $35 placed inside the letter, then placed the opened letter back in the mailbox sometime between 12:30 and 5:30 p.m. Sept. 17.
7An unknown male driving a white, four-door Buick Century left without paying for $54 of gas at Good To Go Citgo, N88 W15167 Main St., at 4:20 p.m. Sept. 17.
8The owner of Thomas Orthodontics, N84 W15994 Menomonee Ave., called police to report an unknown subject had illegally dumped food scraps on his property at 6 a.m. Sept. 18. The caller told police he was having ongoing issues with this problem since Aug. 20, 2012, and during the latest incident an entire crock pot with chicken soup remnants was left at the front door of his business. This was the fourth documented complaint of a similar nature since 2012, but the business owner stated there have been many more incidents during the past year. A trail camera installed on the property recorded an image of a person of interest and police are following up.
9A woman was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia after she was pulled over for driving erratically in the 12400 block of U.S. Highway 41 at about 5:10 p.m. Sept. 18. Police also conducted field sobriety tests and took the woman into custody for operating while impaired (third offense). A blood draw was taken, the results of which were unavailable at the time of the report.
· Menomonee Falls police assisted with one rescue call between Sept. 13 and Sept. 19.
