Plan commissioner appointed to Village Board
He fills seat vacated by village president
Stephen Raymonds will fill the Menomonee Falls Village Board seat that was vacated when Randall Newman was elected village president in April.
Eight candidates had applied for the position.
The Village Board on June 17, by a 4-2 vote, appointed Raymonds to the position. Trustees Dennis Farrell and Jeffrey Steliga voted for candidate William Klumb. Trustees Sharon Ellis, James Jeskewitz and Michael McDonald and Newman voted for Raymonds.
The other six candidates who applied were Tim Nelson, Chris Rolenc, Carl Bahneman, Randall Melchert, John Smith and Andrew Braatz.
Raymonds, 57, has lived in the village for 31 years.
He is the secretary/treasurer counsel for Heuler Tile, a Pewaukee-based stone and tile installation firm. He has a juris doctorate from Marquette University Law School.
He has no prior elected experience, but he serves on the Plan Commission and has been on other boards including the Community Chamber, Kiwanis Club and Tri-County YMCA.
"I'm hoping … to serve fairly, openly and honestly in the best interest of Menomonee Falls," he said about his new appointment.
