Dispatchers receive slight increase in wages
Menomonee Falls - The Menomonee Falls Village Board on Monday approved a 1.5 percent wage increase for 14 dispatchers in the fiscal year 2012.
Dispatchers in the village have not received a wage increase since 2008. The village of Menomonee Falls and the Labor Association of Wisconsin, which is the bargaining agent for all regular full-time and part-time dispatchers reached this wage agreement. Starting dispatchers will now be paid $17.52 an hour.
County educators association scheduled first fall meeting
West Bend - The Washington County Retired Educators Association will hold its first fall meeting at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 19 at the Top of the Ridge restaurant at the Cedar Ridge apartments, 113 Cedar Ridge Drive in West Bend.
For the program at 10:30 a.m., Charles Ritzenthaler, retired Germantown educator, will share his experiences as a longtime volunteer with the Crane Foundation in Baraboo. Newly retired educators, longtime members and their guests are welcome.

Menomonee Falls postal unit to change locations, add hours
Menomonee Falls - Changes in the way that customers are using the mail, along with advances in mail processing have made it possible to bring the retail and carrier units back in the original office location, W16110 Appleton Ave.
Remodeling of the original office is nearly complete and will be open for retail business on Aug. 27. On that date, the retail unit located at N9170 Saint Francis Drive will be closed.
The new retail unit offers the same hours of operation from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. The outer lobby where customers can use the Automated Postal Center to purchase stamps and mail packages or access P.O. Box mail will have increased hours from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
The office consolidation will have the added benefit of being able to transact all postal business in one location.

Turkey foundation gives donation to Parks & Recreation
Germantown - The Germantown Parks & Recreation Department thanked The National Wild Turkey Foundation - Holy Hill Chapter for its donation of $500 toward the archery range and program at Dheinsville Park.
Without its support the range/program would not be possible. The department invites everyone to try their hand at archery with a demonstration day slated for 9 to 11 a.m. Sept. 8. The demo is free, but registration is required. Call (262) 250-4710 to register.
Two US 45 Ramps at Highway 60 to be closed
Menomonee Falls - Beginning at 7 a.m. Aug. 27, the southbound off ramp and the northbound on ramp on US 45 at Highway 60 will be closed.
The work is part of the WIS 60 project. The reconstruction project is expected to run until late October. Detour routes will be posted. The business signs serving the southbound lanes have been repositioned and changeable message signs have been in place announcing the closure since last week.
Board approves purchase of new fingerprint scanner
Germantown - The Germantown Village Board on Monday approved the purchase of a Cross Match fingerprint scanner to replace an old scanner.
The scanner costs $13,941.
