Police arrest one suspect
in baby formula thefts
Menomonee Falls - On Jan. 3, Menomonee Falls police arrested a 34-year-old Milwaukee man in connection with two December shoplifting incidents at a Menomonee Falls Pick 'n Save store.
The man was arrested for shoplifting 13 cans of Gerber Good Start baby formula from Pick 'n Save, N95 W18273 County Line Road, on Dec. 12, and for stealing another 11 cans from the same store on Dec. 13.
Menomonee Falls Police identified the man through surveillance photos after he was arrested for committing the same crime at a Pick 'n Save store in Bay View on Dec. 23. He is also a suspect in three other similar shoplifting incidents in the Menomonee Falls area.

Menomonee Falls - A resident who became irate and spit on an officer after receiving a municipal citation for playing his music too loud is now facing a felony charge for assaulting an officer.
According to police:
Menomonee Falls police received an anonymous complaint about loud music at a home in N92 W16900 block of Roger Avenue at about 10:41 p.m. Jan. 7 and dispatched officers to the area. After hearing the music was too loud, police talked to the resident of the home, a 59-year-old man, who refused to turn the music down and was issued a municipal citation for loud and unnecessary noise.
Upon receiving the citation the man became irate and began yelling at the officers outside his home, causing a public disturbance. When officers arrested him for disorderly conduct and began the booking process, the man "intentionally spit on the officer," according to the report. He was then taken into custody and transported to the Waukesha County Jail.
In addition to the municipal citation, the man is now facing a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct and a felony charge of throwing and/or discharging bodily fluids at a public safety worker.
Germantown man arrested
for drunken driving on ATV
Germantown - A 26-year-old Germantown man was arrested early morning Jan. 7 for operating an ATV while intoxicated.
According to a news release from the Washington County Sheriff's Office:
A Washington County deputy on patrol observed the man driving on Appleton Avenue near Meeker Hill Road in the village of Germantown at 12:43 a.m. Monday. The man was crossing the centerline at about 40 mph. As the man pulled into the yard of his residence, the deputy approached him and observed signs of alcohol impairment. After field sobriety tests, the man was arrested.
A small amount of marijuana was also found on the man.
The man was booked into the Washington County Jail on the drug charge as he has prior drug convictions. He is also currently on probation for possession of narcotics.

hotel havoc
Oconomowoc - A 21-year-old Menomonee Falls resident was charged Jan. 9 after allegedly discharging a fire extinguisher inside of Olympia Resort, 1350 Royale Mile Road, and causing "severe damage," to the hotel in December.
Joshua F. Kennard was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court with misdemeanor counts of vandalism, disorderly conduct and resisting or obstructing an officer.
According to the complaint, Kennard went to the hotel for drinks and karaoke with friends after plowing snow for more than 48 hours without sleep, a friend of Kennard's told police.
Kennard became upset for some reason, the friend told police, and allegedly broke a light in the hotel's courtyard and in a hallway. At some point he discharged a fire extinguisher, according to the complaint. The arresting officer said in the complaint he observed "a cloud of white powder in the air," upon arriving at the scene.
As police were escorting Kennard out of the hotel, he reportedly lunged toward the arresting officer and yelled, "Kill me" and "come on," the complaint reads.
Kennard will be in court next on Jan. 21.
