Man faces charges after stealing from grandparents

Menomonee Falls - A 25-year-old Menomonee Falls man was arrested for stealing his grandparents' debit card and using it to make fraudulent charges and take money out of their account.

According to Menomonee Falls police:

Officers responded to the victims' residence in the N70 W13500 block of Brentwood Drive after receiving a report that someone stole a debit card from the home sometime between midnight Sept. 22 and 4 a.m. Sept. 29. The suspect apparently used the card to make cash withdrawals from area ATMs and fraudulent purchases in the Falls area.

The victims told police they believed their grandson, who had access to their home, stole the card.

Shortly after 1 a.m. Sept. 30, an officer parked near the victims' residence observed the victims' grandson exiting a cab in front of the home. When the officer approached the suspect and identified himself, the suspect attempted to run away and a foot pursuit ensued. The suspect was eventually tackled to the ground and taken into custody for identity theft and resisting arrest.

The suspect was also cited for possession of drug paraphernalia after police found a glass pipe in his pocket during the arrest search. He refused to provide a statement and was taken to Waukesha County Jail.

Falls police arrest man suspected of abducting kids

Menomonee Falls - A 19-year-old Fond du Lac man was arrested after he fled from Menomonee Falls police and crashed his car with three young children inside on Oct. 1.

According to Menomonee Falls police:

At 6 p.m., Menomonee Falls police received an alert from the Fond du Lac Police Department regarding an attempt to locate a man driving a red, 2002 Toyota Sequoia. The driver of the car, a 19-year-old Fond du Lac man, allegedly abducted three young children after a domestic violence incident in Fond du Lac.

Menomonee Falls officers located the vehicle and pulled it over in the 12400 block of U. S. Highway 41. When the officers approached the vehicle and attempted to talk to the driver he sped away, initiating a police pursuit. The pursuit ended when the vehicle crashed on the 124th Street exit ramp from Highway 145.

The driver fled the car, leaving the three young children behind. The foot pursuit ended when canine officer Tyson located the suspect in the courtyard of a business at 11770 Lake Park Drive in Milwaukee.

He was taken into custody and is facing multiple charges, including drunken driving with minors as passengers, three counts of reckless endangerment, obstructing an officer and bail jumping. He is also facing kidnapping and domestic violence charges in Fond du Lac.

Alert employee helps police arrest two sets of thieves

Germantown - An observant employee at L.T. Hampel helped police catch three thieves at a neighboring business between 11:15 p.m. and Oct. 1 and 4 a.m. Oct. 2.

According to Germantown police:

An employee at L.T. Hampel called police to report he heard the sound of glass breaking shortly after a suspicious vehicle drove into the parking lot at Systems Inc., W194 N11481 McCormick Drive, at 11:15 p.m. Oct. 1. The business is located just south of L.T. Hampel and was closed for the evening.

Officers arrived on the scene and arrested a 56-year-old man and a 46-year-old man for theft from a vehicle.

The same employee called police again at 4 a.m. Oct. 2 to report another suspicious vehicle in the parking lot behind Systems Inc. The caller stated the vehicle, a silver minivan, left the parking lot after a short amount of time and turned eastbound onto Edison Drive.

Germantown police located the vehicle and arrested the driver, a 48-year-old man, for theft of scrap metal.

Two boys arrested for beating 15-year-old high school student

Germantown - Two students were arrested after a 15-year-old boy was severely injured during a fight at Germantown High School on Oct. 5.

According to a news release:

Germantown police responded to a report of a fight at Germantown High School, W180 N11501 River Lane, at 11:13 a.m. Oct. 5. When officers arrived at the scene, the school resource officer and school administration had already broken up the fight and separated everyone involved.

As a result of a preliminary investigation, a 16-year-old male student was arrested for substantial battery and was transported to the Washington County Juvenile Secure Detention Facility.

A 17-year-old boy was also arrested for disorderly conduct for his involvement in the fight. He was booked at the Germantown Police Department and released.

The 15-year-old victim in this incident was transported to Children's Hospital with severe facial injuries. Police later learned that the victim was going to need surgery to repair facial injuries.

Since the incident was quickly contained by the school resource officers and school administrators there was no major disruption to the school day.
