THEFT
1A backpack containing miscellaneous clothing, college books and an laptop computer was taken out of the trunk of a car in the N84 W15400 block of Menomonee Avenue between 2 and 4 p.m. March 21.
2A 16-ounce beer can containing $50 to $60 of quarters was taken from a home in the W177 N8500 block of Lynnwood Drive at 5 p.m. March 22. Police have a suspect in the theft and charges are pending.
3An unknown man stole a camera and camera bag from Best Buy, N95 W16855 Richfield Way, shortly before 7:15 p.m. March 24.
4Three suspects in three different vehicles simultaneously pumped a total of $161 of gas and left without paying at Speedway, N87 W17245 Main St., shortly before 5:30 p.m. March 25. Police are reviewing videos and still photos of the theft.
5A 60-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for theft after he pumped $101 of gas into a blue conversion van at Woodman's Gas Station, W124 N8145 Highway 145, and then fled shortly after 4:20 p.m. March 27. After the suspect was contacted by the store manager, he stated he paid $20 for gas and refused to return to pay for the balance.
6A messenger bag containing a notebook computer, personal checks and tax papers was taken from a locked vehicle in the east parking lot of Woodman's, W124 N8145 Highway 145, between 4:45 and 5:05 p.m. March 27. The unknown suspect(s) used a flat tool to break the passenger side window to gain entry to the vehicle.
DRUG POSSESSION
7A 26-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for possession of marijuana during a traffic stop on Appleton Avenue and Water Tower Place shortly after 2 p.m. March 25. After the officer detected the odor of burned marijuana inside the vehicle and a probable cause search located 15-20 partially smoked marijuana blunts, the suspect admitted smoking marijuana the previous night. He was also cited for various traffic violations.
ACCIDENTS
8An 18-year-old Menomonee Falls woman was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries after she was struck by a vehicle while riding her bicycle across the intersection of Appleton Avenue and Shady Lane shortly before 7:45 p.m. March 18. The driver of the striking vehicle, a 52-year-old Milwaukee woman, was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
9A 21-month-old boy was conveyed to the hospital with possible injuries after the vehicle he was riding in was struck by another vehicle on Lilly Road and Main Street at 10:52 a.m. March 24. The driver of the striking vehicle, a 54-year-old Hartland woman, was also transported to the hospital with unknown injuries. The Hartland woman was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
OTHER
10A 3-year-old boy was bitten in the face by a dog at Rotary Park, W144 N8536 MacArthur Drive, at 8 p.m. March 22. The child's parents stated they were playing with their son in the park when the dog "came out of nowhere" and bit the boy in the face. An officer stated the child had three puncture wounds, a small bruise beneath his right eye and a large bruise on the left side of his forehead. The victim's parents took him to St. Joseph's Hospital in West Bend for treatment. The dog was not located.
Menomonee Falls police responded to two domestic violence calls between March 21 and March 27.
