Editor's note: Due to the Christmas holiday, police reports were gathered Dec. 22.
1On Dec. 12, a resident in the N88 W16800 block of Main Street called police to report unauthorized phone calls were made on his landline phone. When the resident examined his monthly bill he discovered unauthorized calls were made between 4:36 p.m. Oct. 24 and 4:37 p.m. Nov. 14. A preliminary investigation suggests the unknown suspect(s) utilized a master key to enter the residence when the victim was not home.
2A 19-year-old Milwaukee man was issued a citation for employee theft after he received merchandise at an unauthorized discount rate, along with not paying for other items, at JC Penney, N96 W18515 County Line Road, at 11:08 p.m. Dec. 14. The fraud/theft took place on Nov. 13, and the suspect was ordered to pay restitution of $265.
3A loss prevention specialist at Woodman's, W124 N8145 Highway 145, reported the theft of five cartons of cigarettes, valued at $390, between 8:45 p.m. and 8:56 p.m. Dec. 15. The suspect attempted to pay for the cigarettes with a personal check, and when the check was declined the suspect left the store with the merchandise. Police have identified the suspect and are following up.
4The driver of a white minivan left without paying for $62 of gas at Good To Go Quick Mart, N88 W15167 Main St., shortly before 10 a.m. Dec. 18. While an employee chased the suspect, the driver of a green 1990s Pontiac Grand Am pumped $51 of gas and fled westbound on Main Street without attempting to pay. The suspects appeared to be working in tandem. Police are obtaining video surveillance.
5The driver of a mid-1990s white/blue striped Dodge conversion van (no plates) left without paying for $43 of gas at Good To Go Quick Mart, N88 W15167 Main St., at 4:22 p.m. Dec. 19. A witness followed the suspect van to the area of North 81st Street and Good Hope Road in Milwaukee, where he lost sight of the vehicle.
6An unknown male suspect shoplifted 15 boxes of Swisher Sweets cigars off a display by the front door at Falls BP Amoco, N71 W13161 Appleton Ave., at 4:52 p.m. Dec. 18. The suspect then entered a car waiting outside the front door and fled the scene. The same suspect is wanted for questioning in two similar shoplifting incidents currently under investigation.
7Four new Firestone tires, valued at $332, were stolen from the back of a pickup truck parked at Falls Muffler and Alignment, N90 W17082 Appleton Ave., between 8 a.m. and noon Dec. 20.
8Two unknown suspects shoplifted two cartloads of merchandise at Woodman's Food Market, W124 N8145 Highway 145, at 12:53 p.m. Dec. 21. The suspects, a male and female, fled in an older white custom van with a broken mirror hanging on the driver's side door. Police are reviewing surveillance video.
9A 43-year-old Waukesha woman was injured when her car left the roadway and struck a tree in the W204 N6700 block of Lannon Road at 8:57 a.m. Dec. 14. An investigation revealed the woman tapped her brakes and lost control of the vehicle due to slippery conditions. She was transported to the hospital with injuries to her neck and lower extremities. She was issued a citation for driving too fast for conditions.
10A 50-year-old Menomonee Falls man driving northbound on Ridgewood Drive struck two legally parked vehicles while negotiating a curve approximately 100 feet south of Hidden Lane at 4:06 p.m. Dec. 17. He was cited for driving too fast for conditions.
11A 44-year-old Menomonee Falls man was injured when his car was struck by a driver who failed to stop for a red light at the intersection of Good Hope and Lilly roads at 10:18 a.m. Dec. 18. The driver of the striking vehicle, a 48-year-old Menomonee Falls man, was also injured and was cited for failure to obey a traffic signal.
12A resident reported two tires on his vehicle were slashed while the car was parked in the N85 W13700 block of Leon Road between 1:30 p.m. Dec. 15 and 6:30 p.m. Dec. 16.
13Christmas lights on three small deer frames were damaged in the N79 W16100 block of Longwood Street between 7:30 and 9 p.m. Dec. 19. The resident told police this was the second time in one month the decorations were vandalized.
14A 41-year-old Menomonee Falls woman was issued a citation for allowing an animal to run at large after her dog left its property and bit a 37-year-old woman on the leg as she walked her dog on Independence Lane and Georgetown Drive at 7:55 a.m. Dec. 17.
15An 18-year-old Menomonee Falls man was arrested and cited for underage drinking in the W147 N84400 block of Manchester Drive at 6:10 p.m. Dec. 20. The man was later found to be in violation of his probation and was transported to the Waukesha County Jail. His blood alcohol content was 0.23.
Menomonee Falls police responded to one domestic violence call between Dec. 15 and Dec. 21.
