Police Report: Feb. 6

THEFT

1A purse was taken from a locked vehicle in the parking lot at the YMCA, N84 W17501 Menomonee Ave., between 12:45 and 2:30 p.m. Jan. 26. The unknown suspect(s) gained entry to the vehicle by obtaining keys that had been dropped by the victim. Two suspects were identified by witnesses as "acting suspicious" in the parking lot during the time frame of the theft.

2A 28-year-old Menomonee Falls woman and a 42-year-old Milwaukee woman were arrested for shoplifting at GNC, N95 W18373 County Line Road, after they concealed merchandise and fled the scene in a gray Pontiac shortly after 2 p.m. Jan. 26. The suspects were located and stopped by police on Appleton Avenue at Jacobson Drive, where they were taken into custody, booked, cited and released.

3An 18-year-old woman and a 17-year-old girl were arrested for shoplifting $533 worth of merchandise at Kohl's, N95 W18000 Appleton Ave., at 6:35 p.m. Jan. 28.

4A 25-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man, both of Brookfield, were arrested for theft of scrap metal after police pulled over a suspicious vehicle parked in the lot of Northcentral Telcom Inc. on Garwin Mace Drive and Fountain Boulevard on Feb. 2. The two were also cited for obstructing.

DRUG POSSESSION

5A 40-year-old Brookfield man was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after police found a glass bong and a prescription pill bottle filled with marijuana in his trunk during a consent search of his vehicle on Pilgrim and Lisbon roads at 2 p.m. Jan. 27. He was also cited for operating while suspended and no insurance.

6A 39-year-old Grand Marsh woman was arrested for possession of marijuana after police pulled her over for multiple traffic violations on Appleton Avenue and Pilgrim Road at 2:30 a.m. Jan. 29.

7A 20-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for possession of marijuana during a traffic stop for expired registration on Main Street and Fond du Lac Avenue at 11:36 a.m. Jan. 30. The woman was also found to have three valid warrants with the Menomonee Falls Police Department and was taken into custody.

ACCIDENTS

8A 24-year-old Waukesha man was cited for inattentive driving after he struck the rear of a school bus stopped at the intersection of Good Hope Road and Flint Drive at 7:40 a.m. Jan. 2. The bus, which was bound for Menomonee Falls High School, received only minor damage. One student, a 15-year-old Milwaukee girl, was transported to Community Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

OTHER

9A 45-year-old man and a 53-year-old man, both of Milwaukee, were cited for prowling after a witness called police about a suspicious vehicle driving behind ATL Pharmaceutical and several other businesses in the W140 N9500 block of Fountain Boulevard shortly after midnight Feb. 2. The men admitted they were looking for scrap metal items but stated they did not take anything. Police recovered about 10 water heater cores inside the van, but were unable to confirm where the items came from.
