Police Report: Jan. 16

THEFT

1A man's black, bi-fold leather wallet containing $43, assorted ID cards and a BP gas card was stolen from a room at Community Memorial Hospital, W180 N8085 Town Hall Road, between 7 p.m. Jan. 2 and 7 a.m. Jan. 3.

2An arrest warrant has been issued for a 30-year-old man who shoplifted several electronic items at Target, N95 W17707 Shady Lane, at 6:43 p.m. Jan. 4. The suspect was identified through surveillance video and is also wanted for previous thefts at other area Target stores.

3Purses were stolen from three locked vehicles in the parking lot at Marcus Cinemas, W180 N9393 Premier Lane, between 6:30 and 9:30 p.m. Jan. 5. The unknown suspect(s) used a pry tool to shatter a side window on each vehicle to gain entry.

4Four tires and rims were stolen off a 2008 Chevy Impala in the east parking lot at EVS, N88 W14167 Main St., between 9 p.m. Jan. 9 and 8 a.m. Jan. 10.

5Two electronic items were stolen from a bottom desk drawer at Actuant, N85 W12545 Westbrook Crossing, between midnight Dec. 16 and 8:50 a.m. Jan. 12.

DRUG POSSESSION

6A 30-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drug possession during a traffic stop in the 15700 block of Stonewood Drive at 2:15 p.m. Jan. 10. The passenger in his car, a 31-year-old Menomonee Falls woman, was also arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after police found marijuana and a scale in her purse.

DRUNKEN DRIVING

7A 35-year-old Brookfield man was arrested for drunken driving, fourth offense, after he was stopped for speeding on southbound Lannon Road just north of Silver Spring Drive at 12:40 a.m. Jan. 12. The driver failed field sobriety testing and was taken to the hospital for a legal blood draw, the results of which were unavailable.

ACCIDENTS

8A 28-year-old Menomonee Falls man was injured when his vehicle was struck from behind, spun around, and struck a traffic signal at the intersection of Highway 175 (Appleton Avenue) and Good Hope Road at 10:55 a.m. Jan. 6. The driver of the striking vehicle, a 58-year-old Milwaukee man, told officers he had no memory just prior to the crash and advised police he was a diabetic. An 81-year-old female passenger in the striking vehicle was also suffered injuries and was transported to the hospital. The Milwaukee man was cited for failure to have control of his vehicle.

OTHER

9A 33-year-old man and an 18-year-old man, both of Milwaukee, were arrested for prowling after police found various scrap items in their truck at a construction site on Fond du Lac Avenue and Main Street at 11:45 p.m. Jan. 9. The suspects admitted taking the items, which included copper pipes and electrical watt reducers, from the area without permission. The items were returned to the site and the contractor decided not to pursue theft charges.

10Police received a call at 11:50 a.m. Jan. 11 that four cats had been left without food or water in a residence vacated at the end of December 2011 in the N94 W16600 block of Cumberland Road. The cats were captured alive by a Waukesha County Humane officer and taken to HAWS. Police are trying to locate the owner of the animals, who is believed to be residing in Florida or Alaska, in order to issue multiple citations for animal abuse/neglect.

11Menomonee Falls patrol units assisted the Washington County Sheriff 's Department during a high-speed pursuit of a suspect in a black Lexus or BMW by deploying a "Stop Stick" on southbound Highway 41 and County Line Road shortly after 10:30 p.m. Jan. 13. The suspect evaded the deployment and continued south on Highway 41 into Milwaukee County, where the pursuit was called off. The identity of the driver was unknown at the time of the report.

12A 22-year-old Germantown man and a 24-year-old Milwaukee man were arrested for prowling after they removed 30 pieces of copper pipe from a construction site adjacent to Friends of Nature, N88 W15483 Main St., at 5:31 p.m. Jan. 12. The suspects admitted taking the scrap metal, stating they believed the items were "junk" and "free." The site manager for the construction area declined to prosecute the suspects for theft.

FIRE

13Police and fire department officials responded to a garbage can fire at Willowood Park, N55 W15001 Silver Spring Drive, at 4:35 p.m. Jan. 9. A plastic garbage can located on the covered outside area by the comfort station had completely burned, causing damage to a brick pillar and charring on the concrete floor. The garbage can was located directly below a cigarette butt can hanging on the pillar. At the time of the report, no malicious activity was suspected.

Menomonee Falls police assisted with one rescue call and one fire call between Jan. 3 and Jan. 13.
