Police Report: March 19

THEFT

1Four electronic devices were stolen off employee desks at Kohl's corporate center, N56 W17000 Ridgewood Drive, between 5 p.m. Feb. 13 and 8:30 p.m. Feb. 28. Loss prevention video recorded a cleaning employee removing a "bait" iPod; however, the cleaning company supervisors have been unable to contact the employee since the theft. An investigation is ongoing.

2An employee at the Colonial Square Apartments, N88 W16888 Main St., reported the theft of scrap metal from the underground parking garage on March 7. The thefts took place between 6 a.m. Feb. 12 and 3 p.m. March 7.

3An unknown male left without paying for $36 of gas at Good To Go Quick Mart, N88 W15167 Main St., at 4:35 p.m. March 8. The suspect first used a credit card to pay for 21 cents, and then pumped the rest without paying.

A resident reported she was defrauded out of $4,800 by an unknown suspect between 12:30 and 6 p.m. March 9. The victim told police a caller convinced her to transfer the money to a subject in Lima, Peru, to assist with her grandson's legal troubles. The victim later discovered her grandson was home and not in need of financial assistance.

4A 96-gallon black recycling cart approximately three-quarters full of empty aluminum cans was stolen from the front yard of a residence in the N76 W15500 block of Countryside Drive between 5 p.m. March 8 and 6:45 a.m. March 9.

5The driver of a dark maroon vehicle left without paying for $36 of gas at C-Store, N48 W18028 Lisbon Road, at 5:15 p.m. March 8. The vehicle/occupant appeared to be similar to a gas drive-off at Pilgrim Petrol on March 6.

6A purse was stolen out of a locked vehicle on Menomonee Avenue and Main Street between 3:10 and 3:30 p.m. March 11. A window was smashed to gain entry.

7A 43-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for shoplifting two pairs of shoes and a 15-year-old Milwaukee girl was arrested for shoplifting clothing at Kohl's, N95 W18000 Appleton Ave., at 2:15 p.m. March 10. The girl was also taken into custody for an outstanding warrant with the Brown Deer Police Department.

8An estimated $2,900 worth of U.S. Army ACU Military-issued gear was stolen from a locked car on Wheeler Drive and Menomonee River Parkway between 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. March 14. The victim, a U.S. Army Specialist, stated he went for a run and upon returning to his vehicle three large bags of issued gear were stolen from the back seat of his car. Although the car was locked, the front driver's and passenger's side windows were rolled down enough for a smaller-framed individual to get an arm inside and unlock the doors.

9A 25-year-old man and his 24-year-old wife were arrested for theft when they were caught removing scrap metal at Industrial Recyclers Company, W124 N9391 Boundary Road, at 11:30 a.m. March 13.

10Two laptop computers were stolen from the Eutectic Corporation, N94 W14355 Garwin Mace Drive, between 8 a.m. Feb. 23 and 3:30 p.m. March 13. A spokesman from the business also told police that one of the stolen laptops had been registered by an unknown person for warranty/return purposes.

DRUG POSSESSION

11A 30-year-old Jackson man was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop on Appleton Avenue and River Crest Drive at 5:40 p.m. March 9.

DRUNKEN DRIVING

12A 23-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving, second offense, on Richfield Way and County Line Road shortly after 4 a.m. March 12. A legal blood draw was refused.

ACCIDENTS

13A 21-year-old Menomonee Falls woman was injured when her car was struck in the rear by a vehicle traveling southbound on Pilgrim Road just north of Lisbon Road at 7:55 a.m. March 9. The driver of the striking vehicle was cited for driving too fast for conditions.

VANDALISM

14An unknown suspect(s) made an 18-inch scratch across the hood of a vehicle parked at the Village Square Apartment complex, N82 W13400 Fond du Lac Ave., between 6 p.m. March 5 and 5 p.m. March 6. The vehicle owner found the vandalism after he was notified that his vehicle had slipped out of gear and was rolling toward other vehicles parked in the lot, but did not strike any. A note was found on his vehicle by one of the apartment owners.

OTHER

15An employee found a small plastic bag containing marijuana in the cosmetic department at Target, N95 W17707 Shady Lane, shortly after 5 p.m. March 7. Security personnel turned the bag over to police for testing and weighing.

16Drug paraphernalia and a plastic bag containing a white, powdery substance were found in the W124 N9300 block of Boundary Road shortly before 2 p.m. March 13. The items were turned over to police and a test on the substance showed positive for methamphetamine.

17A resident in the N75 W15300 block of Colony Road called police to report that an unknown suspect(s) placed dead animals and garbage at the end of a driveway between 10:30 a.m. March 14 and 6:45 a.m. March 15. The resident told police this has been occurring during the night time hours since the fall of 2011.

Menomonee Falls police responded to one domestic violence call and assisted with one rescue call between March 7 and March 15.
