Police Report: May 25

BURGLARY

1A 42-inch LCD flat screen TV and a cellphone were taken during a burglary at an unused school building at W165 N8301 Lavergne Ave., between 10:30 a.m. May 19 and 9:30 a.m. May 21. The unknown suspect(s) used a pry tool to pry open a window frame and break a Plexiglass window to gain entry into the west side of the building.

THEFT

2A backpack containing a laptop computer, memory drives, a digital camera, a US Passport and Social Security cards were taken from a locked van in the N56 W13300 block of Silver Spring Drive between 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. May 12. The front passenger window was smashed to gain access to the van.

3A spokesman for State Farm Insurance, N86 W14041 Beacon St., called police to report money and checks are missing from the business cash box May 17. Employees are suspected in the theft and police are investigating.

4A smartphone was taken from a locked vehicle in the N95 W18400 block of County Line Road between 9:10 and 9:30 a.m. May 18. The unknown suspect(s) shattered the front driver's side window of the vehicle to gain entry.

5A catalytic converter was taken from a delivery vehicle parked at Bachmann Furniture, N57 W13380 Carmen Ave., between 5 p.m. May 18 and noon May 21.

6The driver of a silver 1999 Chevy Blazer left without paying for $40 of gas at Mobil, N85 W16198 Appleton Ave., at 6:40 p.m. May 18.

7Catalytic converters were taken from four vehicles parked in a lot in the N56 W13300 block of Silver Spring Drive between noon May 19 and 10 a.m. May 22.

8A windshield mounted GPS unit was stolen from a locked vehicle in the parking lot at Waste Management, W124 N8925 Boundary Road, between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. May 22. A pry tool was used to enter the vehicle.

ASSAULT

9A 42-year-old man was arrested for assault after he punched a 24-year-old co-worker in the face while they were working in the W156 N9200 block of Tipp Street shortly after 8 a.m. May 21.

DRUG POSSESSION

10A 30-year-old Menomonee Falls man was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the N96 W16800 block of Cumberland Court shortly before 5 p.m. May 18.

11A 20-year-old Cedarburg woman was arrested for drunken driving, possession of marijuana and cited for no insurance on Appleton Avenue and Shady Lane shortly after 10 p.m. May 22. A passenger in her car, a 22-year-old Hubertus man, was also arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

DRUNKEN DRIVING

12A 51-year-old Menomonee Falls man was arrested for drunken driving, fourth offense, on Highway 41 and Highway 145 at 1:50 p.m. May 18. His preliminary blood alcohol content was 0.22.

VANDALISM

13A porcelain bathroom sink was broken off the wall and two stainless steel mirrors were scratched in the men's bathroom at Village Park, N87 W17001 Garfield Drive, between 10:34 p.m. May 17 and 7:15 a.m. May 18. The bathroom was locked and there were no signs of forced entry, so it appears the unknown suspect(s) had a key to gain entry to the bathroom.

14A 32-year-old Waukesha man was arrested for vandalism after he broke a window at a residence in the N81 W16100 block of Robinhood Drive at 2:45 a.m. May 21. The suspect was banging on the window in an effort to talk to a woman who resided at the residence.

15Graffiti was etched with black marker into a wooden bench at the municipal park playground, W156 N8436 Pilgrim Road, before 8:55 a.m. May 21. Damage is estimated at $200.

OTHER

16A 46-year-old man was arrested for prowling after he was seen digging through a Dumpster at Roband Corporation, N92 W15966 Megal Drive, shortly before 3:30 a.m. May 22. The suspect admitted taking scrap metal from the enclosed Dumpsters without consent. Police are following up with the business to determine if they want to pursue theft charges.

Menomonee Falls police responded to two domestic violence calls between May 17 and May 22.
