Menomonee Falls - Paul Tadda will be a new face on the Menomonee Falls School Board after being the top vote-getter in the election Tuesday night, receiving 4,029 votes, which is about 40 percent.
The vote total, according to unofficial results Tuesday:
Paul Tadda 4,029
David Noshay 2,801
Michele Divelbiss 2,661
Richard Houdek 2,388
Election results remain unofficial until they are certified by the board of canvassers, which met Wednesday, after press deadline.
Incumbent David Noshay resumes his seat on the board with about 24 percent of the vote, defeating Michele Divelbiss and Richard Houdek.
Menomonee Falls School Board members receive $5,000 annually.
Paul Tadda, a structural engineer with two children about to enter the Menomonee Falls School District, is a believer in offering employee benefits similar to the private sector. He said during his campaign that insurance deductibles could be raised to be more in line with the private sector, however, that does not mean the amount deducted from employee pay checks necessarily has to increase.
"I have a lot to learn and a lot to look into, and I look forward to getting all the information and all the data," Tadda said Tuesday night.
He said he tackled the issue of transparency and openness on the School Board during his campaign, and credited his election to that issue.
His campaign also focused on finding ways to save the district money while minimizing the impacts on employee pay and offering competitive benefits.
Issues resonated with voters
"I think the people of Menomonee Falls wanted a conservative on the board and when I was out campaigning and talking to people that message seemed to resonate," Tadda said.
Noshay, general manager of QuadMed, was elected to the Menomonee Falls School District in 2009 and resumes his seat on the board for another three years. Through his stint on the board, Noshay has seen the district implement new programs to increase the educational standards through initiatives such as Align by Design and Response to Intervention, which is a program focused on early educational intervention with young students who may need additional help.
Due to late election results, Noshay could not be reached for comment.
