Brown Deer - Village Manager Russell Van Gompel turned in his letter of resignation earlier today, requesting that his tenure with the village end Nov. 9.
Van Gompel will take over as City Manger of Eau Claire shortly thereafter in early November.
The village's Personnel Committee met yesterday and will solicit hiring proposals from three consulting firms. Members of the Personnel Committee and the Village Board will discuss how to fill the Village Manger position at an Aug. 20 board meeting.
Once a consulting firm is selected in the coming weeks, said Van Gompel, the village will be able to create a timeline for his replacement.
