Falls U-13 baseball team wins two tournaments
The Menomonee Falls U-13 baseball team, coached by former Falls varsity coach Dave Weber, along with Ralph Kornburger, Mike Emmer, Aaron Sansone and Jim Wright finished with a 20-0 record and the American Division championship in the Wisconsin State Youth Baseball League.
The team also won the New Berlin Magic and Green Bay Area Babe Ruth All-Star Tournaments to finish with a 37-3 overall record.
Weber noted the Green Bay title was particularly satisfying, as the team was entered in a tough pool and entered the championship playoffs as a wildcard entry. But once in the playoffs, they defeated the Green Bay All-Stars in nine innings, and then beat the Union Grove Bronco Select team and Janesville to win the title.
Ty Weber received the most valuable pitcher award in the tournament and Zach Kornburger was named the most valuable batter. Other players on the team include the following: Matt Emmer, Casey Nitz, Boyd Sansone, Casey Reich, Michael Russell, Myles Mayer, Nate Fuiten, James Wright and Josh Schwechel.

Falls baseball players earn Academic All-State honors
Menomonee Falls baseball players Logan August and Troy Kenkel were recently named to the Wisconsin Baseball Coaches' Association Academic All-State team.
August, who graduated earlier this spring, and Kenkel, who will be starting his senior year this fall, both turned in grade point averages of more than 3.75 (the minimum requirement for all-state). The pair were joined on the All-District team by another Falls graduate Greg Roble. A 3.5 average was the minimum required for the All-District team.
