The Menomonee Falls and Germantown boys and girls track teams are off and running on the indoor portion of their schedules.
Menomonee Falls girls
The Indians, led by victories from Aerial Holt in the long jump and by the 800-meter relay team of Jessica Robinson, Mikayla Robertson, Holt and Haley Precia, claimed a seventh-place showing in the Wisconsin Lutheran Viking Invitational last Saturday.
Falls scored 42 points for its spot as Waukesha West won the 17-school event with 63 points.
Holt jumped 17 feet 2 1/2 inches for her win. She was 2 1/2 inches better than a competitor from West Bend West. The relay team was .6 of a second better than Greyslake Central (Ill.), in one minute, 52.18 seconds. Robertson is a two-time state place-winner in the triple jump for the Indians.
Other places of note included a fourth from the 3,200 relay team of Megan Paule, Erin Birschbach, Cassie Visintainer and Emily Jacobs (10:51.11); a fifth from the 1,600 relay team of Robertson, Precia, Visintainer and Robinson (4:26.57); a fourth from Samantha Madrzak in the pole vault (8-0); and a fifth from Precia in the high jump (4-10).
Savanna Callen was seventh in the 55-meter hurdles (9.93), and Katie Lepak was eighth in the same race (10.06), while Holt was seventh in the 55-meter dash (7.75), and Paule was eighth in the 1,600 (5:42.31).
Germantown boys track
Ryan Lemke took a second in the shot put with a toss of 51-8 to lead the Warhawks to a 15th place showing out of 23 teams at the Nelson-Daniel Invitational at University of Wisconsin-Whitewater last weekend.
Lemke trailed only Beaver Dam's Riley Budde (54-5 3/4 ) in the 44-man field.
Germantown scored 18 1/2 points as Oconomowoc won the meet with 54.
Other places of note for the Warhawks included the following: Zack Winkler placing seventh in the 55-meter high hurdles at 8.24; Kam Lau, fifth in the high jump with a 6-0; and Tyler Baran, seventh in the pole vault at 12-0.
The 800-meter relay team was 10th out of 19 entries with a solid opening time of 1:38.88.
Germantown girls track
The Warhawks took third in a quadrangular meet at New Berlin West on March 13.
State qualifying hurdler Jennifer Ellis was first (1:10.58) and teammate Rosalie Campbell was second (1:13.17) in the 400-meter dash, and also went one-two with teammate Sammie Gassner in the 55-meter hurdles, as Ellis was clocked in 9.94 and Gassner in 10.15.
Bethany Laubenheimer was second in the long jump (15-0) as was Katelyn Turner in the shot put (33-5 1/2 ).
Thirds went to Erika Bethhauser in the 55-meter dash (8.2), Alex Kleczewski in the 200 dash (31.1), Calli Lemke in the 800 (2:49.45) and Kimmie Karin in the 1,600 (6:47.71).
Germantown scored 48 points for its spot, as host West won with 76.
Menomonee Falls boys track
Adrian Roscher took eighth in the high jump with an impressive height of 6-2 to lead the Indians at the Lake Michigan Invitational at Carthage College last weekend.
Other places of note included Michael Van Alstyne sixth in the triple jump (41-9 ½), Aron Schwartz eighth in the pole vault (11-6) and the 1,600 relay team eighth in 3:37.49.
Other noteworthy efforts included Christian Almonte ninth of 69 in the 55 dash (6.79), Will Roscher 11th of 46 in the 55 hurdles (8.62), I.J. Bullock 12th of 54 in the 400 dash (54.17), Jacob Newman 10th of 60 in the 800 (2:05.59), and Nate Boehler, 13th of 55 in the long jump (19-5).
