Kenseth's win inspires ticket special
After Wisconsin native and 2003 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Matt Kenseth captured the Daytona 500 on Feb. 15, The Milwaukee Mile celebrated with a discounted ticket offer of $17 – to match the winner's car number – to the Saturday, Aug. 29 Wisconsin All-Star 100 race.
Kenseth is scheduled to race a super late model in the All-Star 100.
Fresh off Kenseth's second straight NASCAR victory in Fontana, Calif. on Feb. 22, The Milwaukee Mile is expanding its offer for a limited time, with the offer of two tickets for $17 to witness Kenseth racing in the Wisconsin All-Star 100 event, in the reserved 200-level seating.
Kenseth will return for the third consecutive year to race at The Milwaukee Mile to compete against the best in the Midwest driving a short track super late model race car, which is similar to the car he raced in his formative years before launching his ultra-successful NASCAR career.
The Wisconsin NASCAR superstar joined an elite list of NASCAR drivers Sunday, as his second-straight victory to open a NASCAR season was a feat done only three other times in NASCAR history, most recently by Jeff Gordon in 1997. Gordon, coincidentally, went on to win that year's points championship.
To take advantage of The Mile's ticket offer, fans may enter the promo code "Kenseth" when ordering tickets on milwaukeemile.com and by mentioning "Kenseth" when calling The Milwaukee Mile ticket office at (414) 453-8277. The offer is valid through Sunday, Feb. 28.
In 2009, The Milwaukee Mile is set to host the stars of the IndyCar Series the Sunday following the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday, May 31, the popular NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and NASCAR Nationwide Series events on Friday and Saturday, June 19 and 20, and the return of Kenseth competing against short track racing's finest in a special Wisconsin All-Star 100 super late model event on Aug. 29.
It was recently announced that Wisconsin Motorsports, LLC has signed a new promoter agreement with the Wisconsin State Fair Park Board, which ensures the near-term and long-term future of auto racing at America's Legendary Oval. All purchased tickets for 2009 events at The Milwaukee Mile will be honored.
