Free fishing clinics offered to children
The Wisconsin Council of Sport Fishing Organizations will present free fishing clinics for children ages 15 and under from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 18.
The clinics will be taught by members of local fishing clubs. Each participant must be accompanied by an adult. Fishing equipment will be available, but children may bring their own if possible.
The clinics will cover fishing techniques, equipment use, knot tying, safety rules and fish identification.
Milwaukee County clinics will be offered at the following sites: Brown Deer Park, 7835 N. Green Bay Road; Greenfield Park, 2028 S. 124th St.; Humboldt Park, 3000 S. Howell Ave.; McCarty Park, 8124 W. Cleveland Ave.; McGovern Park, 5400 N. 51st Blvd.; Mitchell Park, 2200 W. Pierce St.; Scout Lake Park, 5902 W. Loomis Road; Sheridan Park, 4800 S. Lake Drive; Washington Park, 1859 N. 40th St.; Wilson Park, 1601 W. Howard Ave..
A Washington County clinic will be offered at Sandy Knoll Park, 2064 Wallace Lake Road, West Bend.
Waukesha County clinics will be offered at the following sites: Menomonee Park/Lannon Quarry, Town Line Road, 1/2-mile north of Good Hope Road; Minooka Park, 1927 E. Sunset Drive, Waukesha; Muskego Park, Janesville Road, ½-mile west of Racine Avenue.
