2012 Holds Promise for Small Local Business

Feb. 1, 2012 | 0 comments

For many within the Milwaukee Business community, there is a buzz in the air offering hope of a stronger economic climate in 2012 than in recent years. With the state of Wisconsin reporting an unemployment rate of 7.3% and metro Milwaukee showing 7.9%, both figures are promising when compared to the 8.7% national average reported this past November. This is a 1.7% drop, compared to December, 2009 when the metro Milwaukee unemployment rate peaked at 9.6%.

All of this is promising for residents and businesses alike. Nalani Services, Inc., a full-service marketing and sales development firm located in Menomonee Falls, has felt both the pull of a challenged economy and the promise of a brighter future. Nalani, founded in 2008, has weathered the storm along with many small businesses around the country, proving that strong community relations, dedicated employees, and a can do attitude is now reflecting a growth trend coming into the New Year. The company has added three new clients, two located in Wisconsin and one from California, setting the stage for what appears to be a strong start to 2012. As a result, the firm has added one new, full-time position and expects to add two more employees by the end of the first quarter based on projected sales.

Deeatra Kajfosz, Owner of Nalani Services, says “The power of small business within a community like Milwaukee can never be underestimated. There seems to be an awakening taking shape with employers and employees eager to embrace a spirit of growth, hiring, and investing in the future of our community.” As businesses and consumers all strive to put the past few years of a depressed economy behind them, business owners like Kajfosz, and many others, have sights set on a promising 2012.
