Community League Plans for 30th "A Community Affair"

Plans are well underway for Community League's 30th annual arts, crafts, collectibles, and antiques show, "A Community Affair" to be held on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Menomonee Falls High School, W142N8101 Merrimac Drive, Menomonee Falls, WI 53051 from 9 am - 4:30 pm. The exhibitors from around the Midwest will show the finest in today's trends and yesterday's treasures in home decorating and fashion. Jewelry, primitives, holiday decorations, doll clothes, rugs, paintings, and Kerry Sherwood with her keyboard playing her latest CD's will delight showgoers.

An exciting new addition to the show this year is an antique appraiser, Barbara Eash, who will be giving verbal appraisals from 9:30-1:30 on everything except coins and stamps. She can do appraisals from photographs as well. Ms. Eash is a member of the Certified Appraisers Guild of America, coordinates Wisconsin's largest Appraisal Fair on Milwaukee Public TV, and is a continuing education instructor at UW-WKE. The cost of an appraisal is $3 per item, up to two items at a time.

In addition to the 90 outstanding juried exhibitors,Community League will have a cash raffle with prizes of $500, $250, and a $100 gas card, along with fantastic bucket/basket raffles featuring Disney hopper passes, a Casino package, a Night Away basket with a one-night stay at the Hyatt in Milwaukee, Shedd Aquarium passes, a Brewer package, a quilt basket, pottery basket, and many other outstanding items.

Homemade White Chili, hot ham bundles, chicken salad and homemade desserts will be featured at the Cafe, along with quick treats from the snack bar. The Silent Auction has dozens of gift certificates and donated items from our exhibitors,including a framed autographed jersey from Jon Axford, Milwaukee Brewer pitcher.

Admission is $4, all proceeds go to local and greater metro charities, scholarships, and civic projects. Donations to the MF Food Pantry will be gratefully accepted. To commorate our 30th show, free prizes will be awarded every 30 minutes during the day.

Free ample parking is available along with a shuttle bus from 9:30-1:30 from the stadium parking lot. Exhibits all on one level, no strollers, please.
