Author discusses her book “HOW I SAW HITLER ON MY SUMMER VACATION: A TRUE STORY” at the Falls Library
On Tuesday, October 30 at 7:00pm, local author Kathy Reed will be talking about her published book "HOW I SAW HITLER ON MY SUMMER VACATION: A TRUE STORY" which is a true account of a single lady touring Europe in the tense weeks leading up to the Munich Conference. The book consists of daily entries in her aunt's trip diary, during her two-month journey through nine European countries by rail.
Kathy will share some of her aunt's unique experiences in Germany, Austria and France - events that were not on the travel itinerary - that were influenced by Adolf Hitler's recent annexation of Austria and his ongoing threats to attack Czechoslovakia.
Kathy will also display a 27" paper model of the SS Normandie. She will share the history of this grand oceanliner, as well as her aunt's experiences on the ship.
The program is free and open to the public. It will be held in the library’s Meeting Room on the first floor. For more information, please call Karen at
