8th Graders at St. Mary Parish School got a taste of some Mexican traditions of "The Day of the Dead"
As part of their Spanish class, 8th graders at St. Mary School in Menomonee Falls got a “taste” of the Mexican traditions of “The Day of the Dead.”
They are holding a “molinillo” which is used to mix and froth Mexican hot chocolate; a “pan de los muertos” (bread of the dead), “calaveras” (decorated skulls), and the special chocolate with just a touch of cinnamon that is used to make Mexican hot chocolate.
In addition to sampling the hot chocolate and “pan de muertos,” each student also made a simple, rising-skeleton toy that would be popular among children as part of this tradition.
